Energy Aggregation Program Drives Over 19% Savings for Participating Healthcare Members!
United Iroquois Shared Services (UISS), the for-profit division of the Iroquois Healthcare Association (IHA) and local group purchasing organization, has saved participating healthcare members more than $1 million on energy market contracts by facilitating an aggregation program based on best practices in energy procurement. On average, UISS members participating in the program have experienced savings of 19.5% on electricity supply and 22.3% on natural gas supply.
David Dermady, Director of Supply Chain for UISS and IHA member, Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, New York, commented, “The fact that UISS has now sponsored an energy program gave me the assurance that I needed to participate. We have been able to reduce our energy supply costs by 15% and had the support needed to allow us to focus on improving [patient] care.”
